Digital Banking Privacy Disclosure
What Do We Do with Your Personal Information?
Why do We Ask for Access?
South Coast Bank’s digital banking tool (online banking and the mobile app) may request access to information stored on your personal device. Information requested will depend on how you interact with us but is done in order to simplify your mobile app experience, improve our services to you, and provide additional security to protect you and your bank account.
It is important to know that before granting access to this information, we will prompt you for permission to give access to this data. If you do not wish to grant permission, you may decline (please note, however, that some features / functions will not operate properly without this access). Should you decline access and later change your mind, these permissions may be updated in your device’s settings.
What is Being Accessed?
Some examples of information that may be requested include your location (to give directions to the nearest branch or ATM/ITM), your contacts (for sending funds), and your camera (to make a mobile deposit, add an image to a transaction, or add a photo to your profile). We may also ask for your debit card information if you elect to utilize debit card controls, your online account access (login ID and password), and your personal contact information.
The digital banking platform may access personal information while the service is in use. That could include records held by the bank such as your phonen umber, home address, or email address. That information would be used to alert you about service-related events or actions that require your attention. It could also be used to pre-populate forms.
The information requested from you may vary depending on the products and services you have requested from the bank.
How do We Keep Your Information Safe?
We take the security of your personal data seriously, and we protect your personal information from unauthorized access to the best of our ability. We comply with all local, federal, and state laws which include safeguards on devices, physical files, and within our buildings. We oversee our third-party providers to ensure your personal information remains confidential and secure. In the unlikely event of a data breach, we would provide timeline notification in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Additionally, we have policies and procedures to help prevent the misuse of that information.
